After award shows, I always find myself scrolling through pictures of celebrities, drooling over their incredible designer gowns, shoes, and accessories. For example, the Billboard Music Awards were this past Sunday, and I am still dying over these amazing looks:

I know this may shock you, but I don’t have a Jimmy Choo clutch that I carry around while running errands like Hayden. What’s even more shocking is that I also dont have a Zuhair Murad gown, like Emmy Rossum’s, hanging in my closet for my next awards show. In fact, the closest thing I have to that is my BCBG dress that I wore to senior prom. And, let’s be honest, there’s a good chance that it wouldn’t even zip now. I know, I know… Sad life. I say all of this to point out that a woman needs a little bit of fabulous in her life every once and a while. However, a woman also needs money in her life to pay for food, rent, and gas, which usually doesn’t leave a whole lot left for fabulous. First world problems.

Enter: Rent the Runway. RTR is SUCH an amazing website that houses a collection of designer dresses and accessories for women to rent for special events, weddings, and photo sessions. Okay, maybe I added the “photo sessions” part, but it’s my blog and I do what I want. For example, if you’re on the hunt for the perfect dress(es) to wear for your engagement session, you could rent from RTR to feel a little more fancy than that Target dress you were planning on wearing. Not that I’m hating on Target… I promise it’s my favorite. Here are a few amazing dresses available on RTR:

Perfect for an engagement session!

Trina Turk, Kate Spade, Nanette Lepore, Rachel Roy

And how amazing would one of these stunners be for a bridal shower or rehearsal dinner?!

While the dresses on Rent the Runway are amazing, I really think my favorites are their accessories! I remember planning what jewelry I would wear on my wedding day, and with not much left in the budget, I didn’t want to splurge on expensive designer jewelry. If only I had known about RTR, I definitely would have been sporting some awesome bling! Here are some of my favorite accessories they have available for rent:

Decades Vintage, Kendra Scott, Kenneth Jay Lane, Oscar De La Renta

Kate Spade, Kate Spade (DANIELLE!!!), Nicole Miller, Kara Ross

You may be a bride on a budget, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a little fanciness and luxury… You ARE the bride, afterall. :)

Happy Wednesday!

Yes, I realize it is almost June (crazy!), but I didn’t want to miss a month! Plus, April was full of goodness, so I just HAD to give it a little shout-out! :)

Noteworthy moments of April:

-Belated anniversary trip to San Antonio, TX. We had such a fun time exploring the city, eating at our favorite restaurant (Pappadeaux), and visiting Shamu at Sea World!
-Dodgeball Tourney with the youth group at Fayetteville High School… Over 350+ people showed up, and it was just INSANE!
-Noley started using my laptop as a pillow. Why yes, I DID spend $1900 so that you could have something cold on which to lay your head.
Turned 24! Yay/Boo! While I’m not a big fan of getting older, I did love my birthday… Aaron did a great job of spoiling me. :)
-Saw Matt Wertz in concert for free! He’s one of my favorite musicians, and I’ve been dying to see him for years now.
-Got to spend some time in the sun, and the freckles came out!
-Traveled to NC for an engagement and bridal session and was reunited with my sweet LU friends, Madison & Crimson.
-Started Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred and a little competition with Crimson. It’s almost over… Longest 30 days ever!
-Had another lovely fire alarm incident… This one happened at 3am. Just death.
-Kicked off 2013 wedding season!
-Noley got her first letter in the mail. Yeah, a little embarrassing but also kind of awesome.
-Made my first Anthropologie purchase… An adorable coffee mug!

Happy Tuesday! :)

Oh, how I have been DYING to share these pictures. I love bridal sessions, but I HATE having to wait to post the pictures until after the wedding… It’s just torture! Brittany & Grant finally tied the knot this weekend, so now I’m able to share this gorgeous session with you! I have just loved getting to know Brittany over the past four months, through her engagement & bridal sessions and wedding! She was truly the epitome of a southern bride… Classy, elegant, full of inner & outer beauty, and so fun! She & Grant’s wedding was in southeast Arkansas, but we were able to shoot her bridal session at Pratt Place Inn & Barn here in Fayetteville. If you’re a bride looking for the perfect Arkansas venue, check out Pratt Place! It’s beauty can’t be beat, and the staff is just wonderful and so amazing to work with! It was the perfect complement to Brittany’s style, and I just love how her portraits turned out. Check out my favorites, and be sure to come back on Thursday to see their wedding photos!

You really can’t go wrong with a lace-edged veil and a pair of Seychelles… Dreamy. :)

Know what else you can’t go wrong with? Buttons. Lots of buttons!

Brittany, you are SO stunning!

This is a favorite!

Brittany displayed this portrait at their reception… So gorgeous!

Happy Monday!
