Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer engagement sessions with your wedding packages?

Yes, yes, yes!!! In fact, all of my wedding packages include a complimentary engagement session because that is just how important they are! It is a great way for me to get to know my couples BEFORE the wedding day. It’s not everyday that you have a girl with a giant camera following you around everywhere, and it can definitely be a little weird! Your engagement session will help you & your fiancé become comfortable in front of the camera, and this will make your wedding day photography a lot more fun & laid-back! Plus, it gives me a chance to get to know y’all before the wedding day so that we can have hilarious inside-jokes and such. :)

I see you live in Arkansas. Do you ever travel to shoot weddings?

Yes, I am willing to travel pretty much anywhere as long as it’s doable with my mom-schedule. :) I even offer special travel discounts for weddings in Jacksonville, Florida, since I love to visit home. :)

How do I book you for my wedding?

As long as I am available for your date, all I need is a signed contract and 50% deposit to hold your date! If I will be traveling for your wedding, I will need the travel expenses paid up front, so I can book my flights, hotel, and rental car ahead of time.

Do you work with an assistant?

Always! Having a 2nd shooter is so important because sadly, I cannot be in two places at once. While I’m capturing you putting your dress on, my 2nd shooter can be capturing your groom’s mother pinning his boutonnière. It makes the wedding day a whole lot easier and relaxed!

What is the deal with the First Look? Are you going to make me do one of those?

I can’t make you do a First Look, but I won’t deny that I just LOVE them. I have a whole blog post dedicated to the First Look. Check it out HERE!

I’m not getting married, but will you still take my picture?

Yes! I do not discriminate against those who are not getting married, but I do only offer a limited number of regular sessions a year starting at $350. Contact me for more details.

I want to get into photography… What kind of camera should I buy?

I started with a little Canon Rebel, and that camera was the bomb.com! It got me through my first year of shooting, and it was only $550! The whole Canon Rebel line is GREAT, and they range in price from $500-$900… Totally affordable for someone who is serious about learning how to work an SLR camera. But BE WARNED. The kit lens is NOT one that you want to keep around for long. Most people don’t realize that investing in a good lens usually more important than the camera! I recommend starting with Canon’s 50mm f/1.8. It’s only about $100 and will make a HUGE difference in your images!
