Two Months Old | Archer Daniel

I think the fact that I never posted Archer’s one month blog post proves that my future children are doomed. Ha! Since I failed majorly, here is his one month picture, followed by this month’s.

IS THIS EVEN THE SAME CHILD?! :( :( :(

Weight: 10lbs 11oz at his two month appointment!

Height: 22 inches even!

Sleep: I read Baby Wise when he was around 6 weeks so that we could get the sleeping through the night thing down as quickly as possible, and he’s doing pretty good but not quite there yet. His last feeding is around 10pm, and then he usually wakes up sometime between 4-5am to nurse. It definitely could be a lot worse, but this momma is excited for the day that he decides to sleep until 7am!

Eating: He gained 2lbs 11oz between his one and two month appointment, and we were thrilled with that! We had a little bit of a slow start gaining weight at first. I’m nursing and supplementing with formula at every feeding except at night. I’m so glad that I’m able to do both because man, formula is expensive! He eats between 4-5oz at each feeding right now. :)

Diapers: We are finishing up our last pack of NB diapers this week! I’ve started putting him in 1’s at night so that he stays a little more dry, and they seem SO big on him! It’s kind of hilarious. :)

Clothing: Like diapers, he’s almost out of NB sizing. There are a few 0-3 month things I’ve put him in because I’m getting tired of our few NB outfits. I didn’t buy many because I had no idea we’d end up with such a little guy! All of my favorite outfits seem to be from Baby Gap, and I have gotten so many cute things from secondhand stores or Instagram sales. Gotta love social media. :)

Mood: He seems to get more and more chill everyday and is such a happy baby! I just love it, but I know he’s setting my expectations super high for babies 2-6. ;) Cue husband freak-out.

Loves:

-Swinging in his swing while staring at the ceiling fan and mobile.
-Ceiling fans. They are his favorite, no matter where we are.
-Laying on his changing table, and again staring at the ceiling fan. (See a pattern here?)
-Jingle bug! It’s this cute little hanging toy that makes a jingle noise that makes him SO happy. He looks so mesmerized and happy when we hold it above him.
-Riding in the car… So thankful for this because he is super easy to tote around when I need to run errands.
-Morning time. After his first feeding of the day we always have playtime on his mat. It’s such a fun time with lots of giggles, cooing, and smiles.
-Having his picture taken. Okay, maybe he couldn’t care less, but I love taking pictures of him! :)
-Music. When he’s fussy for no reason, which is very rare, it’s usually nothing that a little Ben Rector can’t fix!

Doesn’t Love:

-Pacis that aren’t Soothies.
-Bath time. Every once and a while he doesn’t seem to hate it, but most of the time he just cries through it. :(

What I Want to Remember:

-His baby dedication. It was such a special time dedicating him to the Lord on Mother’s Day last week. Also, totally not spiritual, but he looked so sweet and BIG in his adorable outfit.
-His cooing, giggling, and sweet baby smiles, but don’t worry… We take about 15 videos a day. Why did I not get a 64gb iPhone at my last upgrade?!
-The way that Aaron and I can spend our whole evenings just staring at and talking to him. As different as our lives are now that he’s here, I know that these really are simple times, and they will be SO different when the next little arrow comes along.

Looking Forward To:

-Him sleeping through the night. :)
-Our trip to Jacksonville in 4 weeks and then to Destin for Beach Camp in 5 weeks! Homeboy needs a tan!

We love you, Archer!
